How We Rate

The whole scoring model, published — including the weightings, the testing steps and how we get paid.

Published Last updated By Viola D'Elia, Lead Reviewer

A rating is worth exactly as much as the method behind it. Ours is published here in full, including the weightings, so anyone can check whether a score we gave is defensible — or tell us it is not.

The Eight Criteria

Weighted scoring model, total 100 points
CriterionWeightWhat earns points
Payout speed20Measured withdrawal time on a real request, per rail. Promised times score nothing.
Bonus terms15Wagering multiple, max bet cap, game contribution, cashout cap. Clarity counts as much as generosity.
Game library15Pokie count, studio spread, published RTP visible before play, demo availability.
Banking12AUD accounts, local rails such as PayID, minimums, fees, ceilings.
Licensing & transparency12A licence reference that resolves, a named operating company, terms that match behaviour.
Support10Response time on a real query, whether an agent answers the specific question asked.
Responsible gambling tools10Deposit and loss limits, cooling-off, self-exclusion, and whether increases carry a delay.
Mobile experience6Browser build quality, load time, full library access without a download.

How the Testing Works

  1. Register and verify. A real account with real documents. We time how long identity verification takes.
  2. Deposit our own money. Accounts are self-funded. We do not accept operator-supplied balances, because a comped account does not experience the cashier the way a player does.
  3. Play across categories. Enough turnover to see the lobby, the wagering tracker and the game weighting behave.
  4. Withdraw and time it. Timestamps at request, at approval, and at arrival. Both a fast rail and a slow one where available.
  5. Contact support cold. A specific question with a factual answer, sent at an ordinary hour and again late at night.
  6. Re-check every quarter. Terms change. A score with a stale date is a guess.

Scores are calculated, not assigned. Each criterion above maps to a scoring function with published thresholds, and the total is derived from recorded measurements held in a data file. Nobody here types a number into a score field. Where a measurement is missing — most often because we have not yet timed a withdrawal — the operator is listed without a score rather than with an estimated one.

What a score is not. It is not a prediction that you will win, and it is not a safety guarantee. Every operator we list is licensed offshore, and the highest score on this site still carries the limitations set out on our legal page. A rating compares operators against each other, nothing more.

How We Make Money

We earn a commission when a reader signs up through some of our links. That is the entire business model, and it creates an obvious conflict of interest, so here is how we handle it:

  • Commission does not affect scores or order. The ranking is the scoring model's output. If a lower-paying operator scores higher, it ranks higher.
  • We list operators we earn nothing from where they belong in the ranking.
  • Commercial links carry rel="sponsored" and the relationship is disclosed at the top of every page, not buried in a footer.
  • Negatives stay in. Slow card payouts, sticky bonuses and unverifiable licences are written up on the pages of the operators that have them.

If you spot something on this site that reads like it was written for an advertiser rather than a reader, tell us — the contact page exists for that.

What Gets an Operator Excluded

  • No verifiable licence, or a validator link that does not resolve.
  • Terms that permit confiscating a balance without a stated cause.
  • A documented pattern of unpaid or indefinitely stalled withdrawals.
  • Marketing that targets minors, or any claim that gambling is a way to earn money.
  • No functioning responsible-gambling controls.

Exclusion is not a temporary penalty. An operator removed for any of the above does not return to the list on request.

Method Questions

Do operators pay for a higher rank?

No. Position is the output of the weighted model above. We do earn commission on some links, which is disclosed on every page, but it does not enter the scoring.

Why are some slots on the ranking empty?

Because we only list operators we have tested. An untested brand gets no score and no position, and the slot stays empty until the testing is done.

How often are scores updated?

Every quarter as a minimum, and immediately when something material changes — a payout ceiling, a wagering multiple, a licence status. Each page shows its last-updated date.

Can I challenge a score?

Yes. Send the specific figure you think is wrong and what it should be, with evidence, through the contact page. Corrections are published with the update date changed.
