This policy covers personal information handled by rawcraftkitchens.co.nz. We are a review site, not a gambling operator: we do not hold accounts, take deposits or process gambling transactions. The data we handle is correspondingly limited, and this page sets out exactly what it is.
Draft for legal review. This is a working template, not legal advice. Every point marked LEGAL needs a decision from your lawyer before publication, and the document should be checked against how the site actually behaves. A policy that does not match your real data handling is worse than no policy.
One thing your lawyer must settle first. Whether the publishing entity is an "APP entity" under the Privacy Act 1988, and separately whether the EU or UK GDPR applies to any portion of your traffic. Both answers change what this document must contain. LEGAL
What We Collect
| Category | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Technical | IP address, browser and device type, referring page, approximate location | Site security, analytics, serving the right regional content |
| Usage | Pages viewed, time on page, links clicked including outbound operator links | Understanding which content is useful; attributing affiliate referrals |
| Correspondence | Email address and message content when you contact us | Answering your enquiry and keeping a record of corrections |
| Subscription | Email address if you opt into updates LEGAL | Sending what you asked for |
We do not collect payment details, identity documents or gambling account information. If an operator asks you for those, that is between you and them, under their policy, not ours.
Cookies and Tracking
Cookies are used for three purposes on this site: keeping it working, measuring traffic, and attributing affiliate referrals. That third one is the commercially significant category — an affiliate cookie records that you arrived at an operator through our link, which is how commission is calculated.
LEGAL publish a cookie table listing each cookie by name, its purpose, its duration and who sets it. Confirm whether a consent banner is required for the jurisdictions you serve, and whether analytics may run before consent.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site; blocking affiliate cookies costs you nothing and costs us a commission.
How We Use It
- To operate, secure and improve the site.
- To measure which pages readers find useful.
- To attribute affiliate referrals and reconcile commission.
- To answer correspondence and publish corrections.
- To send updates where you have opted in — never otherwise.
Who We Share It With
- Analytics providers for aggregate traffic measurement. LEGAL name the provider.
- Affiliate networks and operators, limited to the referral attribution data needed to calculate commission.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that necessarily process traffic to serve the site.
- Law enforcement or regulators where legally required.
We do not sell personal information and we do not pass your details to operators for their own marketing.
Overseas Disclosure
Our hosting and several service providers are located outside Australia, which means personal information is disclosed overseas. Australian Privacy Principle 8 requires recipient countries to be named where practicable. LEGAL list the countries where your host, analytics provider and affiliate networks operate, and confirm the safeguards applied.
Automated Decision-Making
This site does not make automated decisions that significantly affect anyone's rights. If that changes — for example, automated fraud scoring on a form — the disclosure obligation below applies.
Deadline: 10 December 2026. From that date Australian privacy law requires a privacy policy to disclose the kinds of personal information used in automated decision-making, the kinds of decisions made solely by such systems, and the kinds substantially influenced by them. LEGAL confirm whether anything on this site qualifies before that date. Penalties for a non-compliant policy reach A$66,000.
How Long We Keep It
Analytics data is retained in aggregate for as long as it is useful for editorial decisions. Correspondence is kept while a matter is open and for a reasonable period afterwards. LEGAL state actual retention periods in months or years for each category — "as long as necessary" is not a compliant disclosure.
Your Rights
- Access — ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to fix anything inaccurate.
- Deletion — ask us to delete correspondence or unsubscribe you.
- Complaint — raise it with us first, then with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if our answer does not satisfy you.
LEGAL nominate a privacy contact address and state the response time you commit to. Routing privacy requests to general enquiries does not meet the standard the regulator expects.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS. We hold no payment data and no identity documents, which removes the highest-risk categories entirely. Correspondence is held in access-controlled systems. No system is immune — if a breach is likely to cause serious harm, we notify affected people and the regulator under the applicable scheme. LEGAL confirm the incident process and who owns it.
Children
This site is for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Gambling content is age-restricted for good reason, and if you share a device with children, filtering software is worth considering.
Changes
The current version is always published here with the update date at the top of the page. Material changes are noted before they take effect. LEGAL confirm the notification method.
Privacy Questions
Do you collect my gambling account details?
No. We are a review site with no access to operator systems. We never see your deposits, balances, identity documents or gambling activity — those sit with the operator under its own policy.
What are affiliate cookies?
A cookie recording that you reached an operator through a link on this site, which is how commission is attributed. Blocking it costs you nothing and costs us the commission.
Do you sell my data?
No. We do not sell personal information and we do not pass reader details to operators for their marketing. Data shared with affiliate networks is limited to referral attribution.
How do I request my data or a deletion?
Through the privacy contact address published on this page. If our response does not satisfy you, the complaint can be escalated to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
